ASPIRE Intern – Studio D3: Multi-modal Single Neuron Models

The Allen Institute is dedicated to advancing health through bioscience research, and they are seeking an ASPIRE Intern for their Studio D3. This role involves developing and applying computational models to analyze multimodal biological data, with a focus on brain cell analysis and integration of various data types. Responsibilities Contribute to the development of state-of-the-art AI models for brain cell analysis Build robust benchmarking and evaluation pipelines Explore research interests at the intersection of ML/AI, neuroscience, genomics Learn to work in distributed computing environments Learn to write clean, reproducible and documented code in a collaborative setting using GitHub version control and code reviews Communicate progress and findings to relevant teams within the Allen Institute Skills Bachelor's degree Demonstrated commitment to science This is a fully computational project requiring strong computational coding experience (computational science, machine learning, physics, applied math, or similar) The successful candidate will have strong skills in a form of quantitative scientific analysis such as machine learning, data analysis, statistics, or similar Must have completed a Bachelor's degree prior to the start of the program, and no earlier than December 1, 2023, and must not have an advanced degree in field relevant to the role/project Must be able to start in June or July 2026 and commit to the full one-year program, which will end on May 28, 2027 Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for the program duration Must be 18 years of age or older Benefits Medical Dental Vision Basic life insurance 401k plan Paid time off Company Overview The Allen Institute is dedicated to answering some of the biggest questions in bioscience and accelerating research worldwide.
