Assistant Project Manager

The Assistant Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of affordable housing development and rehabilitation projects, ensuring they stay on schedule, within budget, and comply with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Assist in managing affordable housing development projects from inception to completion Support due diligence, feasibility analysis, and project underwriting Maintain project schedules, track key milestones, and coordinate with internal and external teams Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership and stakeholders Assist in preparing financing applications (LIHTC, HOME, CDBG, HUD, etc.) Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and support financial reporting Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local housing regulations Work with legal and compliance teams to manage funding agreements and contracts Communicate with government agencies, lenders, investors, and community partners Support general contractors, architects, and consultants in project execution Assist in securing permits, entitlements, and approvals Monitor construction progress, attend site visits, and assist in resolving project issues Coordinate with property management teams to ensure smooth project handover Support sustainability initiatives, energy efficiency measures, and green building standards Skills Ability to manage tasks, meet deadlines, and support multiple projects simultaneously Familiarity with proformas, budgets, and affordable housing finance Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with diverse stakeholders Ability to anticipate issues, troubleshoot challenges, and find creative solutions Strong analytical skills to review contracts, financials, and regulatory documents Experience with Microsoft Office, project management tools, and affordable housing software 1-4 years of experience Benefits Health insurance coverage Retirement savings plan Paid holidays Paid time off (PTO) Company Overview April Housing is a provider of solutions and capital for the creation of affordable housing.
