As an Associate Principal Engineer, PHP, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining complex web applications and digital products. You will leverage your expertise in PHP and full-stack development to provide strategic technical guidance, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will influence architecture decisions, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to best practices across the engineering organization. Accountabilities In this role, you will be responsible for: • Designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality, scalable PHP-based applications and services. • Providing architectural guidance and strategic technical insights to engineering teams. • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and QA, to deliver robust solutions. • Mentoring and supporting junior engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development. • Reviewing code, ensuring adherence to best practices, and maintaining high standards for security and performance. • Identifying opportunities to improve development processes, tools, and workflows. Requirements The ideal candidate will have: • Extensive experience in PHP development, with a strong understanding of modern frameworks and best practices. • Proven track record of leading complex projects and delivering scalable solutions. • Deep knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and code optimization. • Experience in mentoring, coaching, or guiding engineering teams. • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Nice to Have: • Experience with full-stack development, including frontend frameworks. • Knowledge of cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies. • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices. • Contribution to open-source projects or community involvement.
