The Associate Principal - Security will manage complex security and technology systems projects, guiding teams from concept through completion while ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery. Accountabilities In this role, you will: Lead mid to large-size security and technology projects, overseeing multiple disciplines and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery. Collaborate with clients, contractors, architects, and internal teams to develop, review, and implement designs for security, audiovisual, telecommunications, and IT infrastructure. Prepare drawings, specifications, design calculations, and construction documentation. Conduct site inspections, programming sessions, and commissioning to ensure projects meet technical and client requirements. Mentor junior staff, provide guidance on technical processes, and contribute to internal training programs. Develop business opportunities, maintain client relationships, and support fee development and project proposals. Track project schedules, budgets, and decisions while ensuring compliance with internal and external standards. Requirements The ideal candidate will have: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience; EIT, CDT, PSP, and/or CPP certifications preferred. Minimum of six years of experience in physical and electronic security system design for facilities construction projects. Proficiency in Autodesk tools (AutoCAD, Revit), Bluebeam Studio, Microsoft Suite, and G Suite. Strong project management, organization, and documentation skills. Experience leading teams, delegating work, and mentoring junior staff. Excellent communication and negotiation skills to engage clients and coordinate multidisciplinary teams. Ability to manage complex projects with competing priorities, demonstrating problem-solving, decision-making, and emotional intelligence. Knowledge of technology systems in mission-critical, healthcare, workplace, transportation, higher education, government, industrial, or cultural sectors.
