Engineering Technician

The Commonwealth of PA is seeking an Engineering Technician for the Department of Environmental Protection. This role involves assisting a survey team on mining projects and operating various survey instruments to gather essential data. Responsibilities Assist an instrument man or rodman within a survey team focused on mining projects Operate various survey instruments such as total stations, EDMs, theodolites, transits, and levels to gather essential survey data Help manage high-accuracy geospatial equipment, including radios, receivers, controllers, and base stations Utilize survey software to generate control reports and calculate coordinates, elevations, angles, and distances Record, verify, and analyze field notes Conduct field visits to county courthouses to gather vital project information, including surface and mineral ownership and deed descriptions Skills An associate degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, or any other appropriate field of engineering technology Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree Possession of a valid PA Class C driver's license Must meet the PA residency requirement Must be able to perform essential job functions Benefits We offer multiple health plans so our employees can choose what works best for themselves and their families.
