Job Summary We're seeking an experienced and visionary Director, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science to join our team and drive strategic business solutions and omnichannel innovation across Walgreens Boots Alliance. As a key member of our leadership team, you'll oversee a team that implements data science and advanced analytics capabilities and platforms, and play a critical role in designing and implementing new platforms to drive and realize our data strategy. Key Responsibilities As our Director, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, you'll be responsible for: Utilizing statistical modeling and other data science techniques for descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analyses to drive business decisions and growth. Interpreting and applying complex data insights to improve products and processes, and presenting findings to business audiences to inform strategic decisions. Setting the vision for manipulation and analysis of large and complex data sets, and directing the development and delivery of statistical and mathematical analyses to support business decisions. Directing the design and development of new or complex algorithms and statistical predictive models, and determining analytical approaches and modeling techniques to evaluate scenarios and potential future outcomes. Leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop unprecedented solutions that drive business growth and innovation. Guiding and mentoring a wide range of audiences, including direct reports, peers, and senior management, to ensure the successful implementation of data science and analytics initiatives. Implementing policies and defining approaches to strategy achievement for specified areas of responsibility, and analyzing long-term impact of new or anticipated strategies and decisions. Managing budgets, operational plans, and performance requirements for the specified area of responsibility, and meeting budgetary goals and objectives. Facilitating communication between staff, management, vendors, and other technology resources within and outside of the organization, and sharing complex information related to areas of expertise. About You We're looking for a seasoned data science professional with a strong background in statistics, mathematics, economics, or a quantitative, computational, or technical discipline. You should have: A Master's degree in statistics, data science, mathematics, economics, or a quantitative, computational, or technical discipline, and at least 6 years of post-graduate professional work experience in a statistical function. Deep knowledge of open-source data science and statistics packages, such as Python, R, Spark, etc. Experience in data science, advanced analytics, or statistics, with the ability to interrogate data, perform analyses, interpret data, and present to business audiences. Deep knowledge of SQL and experience establishing and maintaining key relationships with internal and external stakeholders within a matrix organization. Experience presenting findings to all levels of an organization, including the C-Suite level, and contributing to financial decisions in the workplace. At least 5 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership, or cross-functional team leadership experience. Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state). Preferred Qualifications A graduate degree in a quantitative, computational, or technical discipline is preferred.
