Role Description The Associate Scientific Editor will be responsible for editing, updating, fact-checking, proofreading, and summarizing content that is delivered across multiple platforms, including text, video, and live events. A critical function of the Scientific Editor is managing the voice and tone of our continuing medical education content, from video and audio to text-based and interactive learning formats. In this way, the Scientific Editor is integral to the lifecycle of content development and marketing, from conceptualization to publication. The Scientific Editor will work within the Editorial Department and will collaborate with the Scientific Affairs team and with colleagues across departments to create and present programs on a broad range of medical specialty interests. Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to): • Timely completion of all editorial tasks to meet publishing timelines • Proofreading, fact-checking, copywriting/copyediting, reference formatting, and PowerPoint deck reviews for all phases of our range of deliverables • Working collaboratively on content development across editorial, project management, and production teams • Keeping up with evolving standards of journalistic, academic, technical, and inclusive language • Providing editorial process and style updates to team members • Identifying ways to improve our processes, products, and people • Proactively seeking opportunities to better engage and inform target audiences Qualifications • Possess a minimum bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) or equivalent • Experience in publishing and/or clinical healthcare settings is recommended • Candidates with significant (7+ years) experience in editorial work in a healthcare environment will be considered if the degree requirement is not met • Have a strong interest in the medical field and healthcare professional education • Possess exceptional written, verbal, and analytical skills • Maintain excellent attention to detail • Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize • Be flexible and independent while working in a fast-paced environment • Communicate effectively with the team about expectations, deadlines, and editorial adjustments • Demonstrate proficiency in adhering to timelines • Be available for minimal travel and to work extended hours as needed • Be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and comfortable with AMA style Benefits Along with a competitive salary and benefits package, we offer a modern working environment that supports work/life balance.
