Role Description As a Senior Virtual Tax Advisor, you’ll be part of a growing team that provides expert tax preparation and personalized advice to clients who’ve started their returns with H&R Block. You’ll work remotely, using your tax expertise and communication skills to deliver an exceptional client experience - every time. • Prepare and review individual tax returns using our secure virtual platform • Communicate with clients via secure messaging and phone to gather information and provide expert guidance • Analyze tax documents and ensure returns are accurate, complete, and compliant • Deliver timely, clear, and helpful responses to client inquiries • Research complex federal and state tax issues to support accurate filings • Collaborate with team members and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement • Embrace new tools, technologies, and responsibilities as they evolve Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field - or equivalent experience • 3+ years of hands-on tax preparation experience • Strong knowledge of personal tax law, including complex scenarios (e.g., foreign income, rental properties, small businesses) • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to analyze and resolve both routine and complex tax issues • Comfort working independently in a virtual environment • Certification Level 4 or higher (internal) or successful completion of the Tax Knowledge Assessment (external) and commitment to achieve the required certification level within 90 days • A quiet, dedicated workspace and reliable internet connection Requirements • Enrolled Agent (EA), CPA, or Attorney credentials (preferred) • Experience with new software tools or participation in pilot programs (preferred) Benefits • Competitive compensation and benefits to support your health and well-being • Medical and prescription drug coverage • Participation in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan) • Employee Assistance Program • (Virtual) fitness center programs • Associate discount program • Automatic enrollment in Business Travel Accident Insurance • Associate Tax Prep benefit Pay Range Information The pay range for this position is $21.59 - $32.40/Hr. Local minimum wage laws apply. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.
