Industrial Engineer – Digital Manufacturing & Simulation

Remote, USA Full-time
Job Overview SkyPath Analytics is seeking a skilled Industrial Engineer with hands-on experience in both human simulation (Tecnomatix Process Simulate Human) and discrete-event simulation (Tecnomatix Plant Simulation) to support advanced manufacturing modeling, ergonomic validation, line balancing, throughput analysis, and digital transformation initiatives for aerospace and defense customers. This role involves leveraging advanced engineering techniques to optimize production processes, enhance automation, and improve overall factory efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial and process engineering, with experience in robotics, CAD design, and manufacturing systems. This role sits at the intersection of industrial engineering, digital manufacturing, and simulation engineering. You will build human-centric workstation models, validate operator feasibility, and also develop system-level DES models that analyze line performance, buffers, bottlenecks, and flow logic. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of digital transformation within a dynamic manufacturing environment, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and cutting-edge project development. If you enjoy end-to-end modeling, from operator-level human tasks to full production line simulation, this role gives you the runway to do your best work. Responsibilities 1. Human Simulation & Ergonomic Validation (Process Simulate / Jack) • Build and execute human task simulations to assess reach, posture, visibility, and feasibility. • Perform ergonomic assessments using RULA, OCRA, NIOSH, or MOST/MTM methods. • Validate operator workflows for assembly, packaging, maintenance, and rework tasks. • Analyze human motions, cycle times, and risks; recommend workstation or process changes. 2. Discrete-Event Simulation (Plant Simulation) • Develop DES models of manufacturing lines, cells, and production systems. • Model routing logic, buffers, failures/MTBF, shift calendars, cycle-time distributions, and material flow. • Run throughput, bottleneck, WIP, scenario, and sensitivity analyses. • Work with customer SMEs to define accurate inputs and interpret model outputs. 3. Digital Manufacturing & Process Engineering • Build or refine 3D layouts and workstation geometry for simulation studies. • Validate process sequences, task times, batch logic, and order mixes. • Perform time studies and labor standard development (MTM, MOST, or equivalent). • Support the development of manufacturing digital twins across lines and facilities. 4. Data Definition & Integration • Identify and structure process data needed for both human and DES modeling. • Work with data sources including ERP extracts, MES data, cycle time logs, and operator studies. • Translate incomplete or ambiguous data into simulation-ready formats. 5. Customer Collaboration • Participate in on-site studies, process walk-throughs, and design reviews. • Deliver clear, concise simulation results to manufacturing engineers, leadership, and DoD stakeholders. • Support travel as needed for human validation studies or data gathering. Requirements • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, or a related discipline. • Hands on experience with: Tecnomatix Process Simulate (Human Simulation / Jack) • Hands on experience with: Tecnomatix Plant Simulation (DES) • Strong foundation in industrial engineering: Work measurement (MTM, MOST, or equivalent); Ergonomics; Process flow and line balancing; Time studies & labor standards • Ability to translate real-world processes into structured simulation models. • Clear and concise communication skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience in aerospace, defense, or automotive manufacturing environments. • Familiarity with digital twins, MBSE, PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter), or simulation data pipelines. • Experience with ergonomic assessment software tools beyond Jack. • Understanding of simulation experiment design and statistical analysis. Pay: $115,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year Benefits: • 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Life insurance • Paid time off • Retirement plan • Vision insurance Work Location: Remote Apply tot his job
