**Overview:**
The Registered Nurse 1 position at Carilion Clinic’s Urology department is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care to achieve optimum patient outcomes for patients of all ages. ? Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in order to achieve optimum patient outcomes for patients of all ages
? Complete age-specific admission and ongoing assessments, documenting and using them to develop a plan of care
? Collaborate with healthcare team, patient, and family to develop, implement, and evaluate an age-specific interdisciplinary plan of care
? Accurately administer and document treatments and medications for patients of all ages using automated computer systems
? Identify patient/family educational needs and incorporate them into the plan of care
? Demonstrate the role of patient advocate, protector of patient’s rights, and provider of psychological/social/cultural support
? *Qualifications:**
? Graduate of school of professional nursing of an accredited college or graduate of an approved program eligible to sit for the VA licensure exam
? Currently licensed as Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure
? Obtain CPR, and as needed ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications
? Computer skills required for electronic medical record (EPIC)
? Successfully complete orientation and competency requirements
