Job Description:
• Provides operational, accounting, and consulting services for Tribal governments, including monthly closing, grants management, grant reporting, and financial reporting
• Prepares and records journal entries
• Develops policies and procedures on key accounting matters
• Perform project start-up activities, such as following project work plans, adhering to schedules, and attending kickoff meetings
• Reviews the work of self for accuracy
• Serves as an integral member of our Business Consulting Services team
• Occasionally travels to client locations, firm trainings, or industry conferences
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; emphasis in Accounting or related field preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of related experience, not for profit and/or governmental experience preferred
• Experience in grants management, financial accounting including account reconciliation, governmental accounting standards implementation, and/or accounts payable processing preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to understand problems, think critically and identify creative solutions
• Effective time management and organizational skills
• Works independently to prioritize work, establish goals and produce quality work
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and one or more government accounting/grant management software systems
• Ability to travel as needed, approximately 10-15%
