Role Description
We are seeking an experienced Healthcare IT Systems Specialist to support the implementation and go‑live of critical healthcare applications across the agency. This is a newly created role within the Division of Technology – Health Technology & Informatics Branch, focused on supporting systems that directly enable medical and mental health care delivery.
This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned EHR / EMR / Integration professional who wants to make a meaningful impact in the public sector while working 100% remotely.
You will provide IT support for healthcare technology across the agency, including:
• Electronic Health Records (EHR)
• Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
• PACS
• Pharmacy Information Systems
• Healthcare interfaces and related technologies
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the build, testing, and go‑live of healthcare applications (EHR, lab, PACS, pharmacy, and interfaces)
• Work collaboratively with vendors, clinical staff, and technical teams
• Assist with health IT system maintenance, including applications, databases, templates, and reporting
• Troubleshoot EMR issues through triage, escalation, and root cause analysis
• Create and maintain management and user reports
• Document clinical and mental health workflow processes
• Support healthcare integrations, interoperability, and data exchange
Qualifications:
• 7+ years of experience with EMR/EHR systems (NextGen strongly preferred)
• 7+ years of experience with Mirth / interface engines
• HL7 messaging experience
• FHIR experience
• EMR integration and interoperability expertise
• Healthcare IT operations experience
• Experience working with a State or Government agency
