Job Title: Interim Controller (Part-Time, Remote)
Location: Fully Remote
Duration: 2-3 months minimum
Hours: 15-20 hours per week
Hourly Rate: $60-75+ W2 depending on experience
Job Description:
Jefferson Wells is seeking a skilled and experienced Interim Controller to join our client’s team on a part-time basis. This is a remote position, with the potential for occasional travel to our office in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the monthly close process, generating financial statements, and consolidating financials across multiple entities.
Key Responsibilities:
? Generate accurate and timely financial statements.
? Support the monthly close process from an accounting perspective, including reviewing balance sheet accounts and consolidating multiple entities.
? Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
? Provide expertise in opening balance sheet and purchase accounting.
? Perform detailed financial analysis and reporting.
? Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
? Collaborate with the finance team to improve financial processes and systems.
Requirements:
? Proven experience in a controllership role, with a strong focus on financial statement generation and consolidation.
? Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (macros not required).
? Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
? Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
? Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
? Experience in healthcare finance is highly desirable but not mandatory.
Qualifications:
? Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
? CPA or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
? Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting and controllership experience.
? Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
? Familiarity with opening balance sheet and purchase accounting is highly advantageous.
