We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Controller – Senior Accountant – to join our team on a part-time, remote basis. Position Summary:
As a Controller – Senior Accountant, you will oversee the financial operations, ensure accurate accounting practices, and provide insights into the company?s financial health. You will play a key role in financial reporting, budget management, tax filings, and more. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting. Experience in real estate accounting and working with accredited investors is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
? Oversee and manage the company?s financial transactions and accounting systems.
? Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
? Manage the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and timely.
? Reconcile bank statements and balance sheets.
? Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
? Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
? Coordinate and prepare for tax filings, working with external auditors as needed.
? Assist in cash flow management and financial planning.
? Provide financial analysis and reporting to senior leadership to inform business decisions.
? Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in financial operations.
? Work with accredited investors, ensuring proper financial reporting, investment tracking, and compliance with industry regulations.
? Ensuring financial systems and processes align with real estate development operations.
Qualifications:
? Bachelor?s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
? CPA preferred but not required.
? Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting or controller role.
? Experience in real estate accounting and working with accredited investors is a strong plus.
? Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
? Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
? Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
? Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with remote teams.
? Ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines.
