Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Technician to join our team in Texas. In this role, you will work closely with patients experiencing mental health challenges, providing support and assistance in their recovery journey. You will play a vital role in fostering a safe and therapeutic environment, ensuring that patients receive the care they need while adhering to best practices in mental health treatment.
Duties
• Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for patients under the guidance of licensed mental health professionals.
• Monitor patient behavior and report any changes or concerns to the clinical team.
• Provide support during therapy sessions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
• Engage with patients through therapeutic activities and discussions to promote emotional well-being.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, progress notes, and treatment plans while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions and assist in crisis intervention when necessary.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
• Collaborate with social workers, counselors, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
• A background in Child Family Counseling, Social Work, or Mental Health Counseling is preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and patient care practices is essential.
• Experience or training in Psychotherapy techniques is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Chronic Pain Counseling methods is a plus.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
• A compassionate approach to patient care with a commitment to improving mental health outcomes.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
