Fully Remote — Preferred Locations: NYC, San Francisco, Los Angeles
We are seeking an experienced Sourcing Manager to support our team starting ASAP through Mid June. In this role, you will lead global sourcing strategies across key categories—such as contract manufacturing, primary/secondary packaging, and raw materials—to optimize total cost of ownership, strengthen supplier partnerships, and support ongoing innovation and growth.
This role requires a strong negotiator with deep experience in beauty, skincare, wellness, hair care, or broader CPG manufacturing environments. Ingredient sourcing experience is a plus but not required.
Key Responsibilities
I. Strategy & Category Management
• Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies aligned with financial, quality, and operational goals.
• Conduct ongoing market and cost driver analysis to identify value creation opportunities and supply alternatives.
• Lead cost optimization initiatives (COGS) through negotiation, value engineering, and supplier/material alternatives.
II. Supplier Relationship & Contract Management
• Own the full supplier sourcing process including RFI/RFP execution, capability assessments, and risk analysis.
• Lead commercial negotiations and contracting (MSAs, supply agreements, quality agreements) to secure favorable terms.
• Manage strategic relationships with key suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure long-term reliability and continuous improvement.
III. Cross-Functional Collaboration & NPD
• Serve as the sourcing lead for NPD projects, partnering with R&D, Packaging Engineering, and NPD Operations to ensure timely sourcing and accurate cost modeling (COGS targets).
• Partner with Planning to identify and mitigate supply chain risks such as capacity constraints, geopolitical factors, and raw material shortages.
• Collaborate with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and tracking cost savings.
IV. Performance & Compliance
• Establish and manage supplier KPIs focusing on cost, quality (AQL), and on-time delivery (OTIF).
• Implement risk mitigation strategies including dual-sourcing and inventory buffers.
• Ensure supplier compliance with GMP, cosmetic regulations, and internal quality and ethical standards.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or related field.
• 5–7+ years of progressive sourcing, procurement, or supply chain experience in beauty, skincare, wellness, hair care, CPG, or pharmaceutical industries.
• Proven success negotiating high-value contracts and managing global supplier relationships.
• Strong analytical and modeling skills; proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) and Excel.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders.
• Ingredient sourcing experience is beneficial but not required.
