Job Details We are seeking a Renewable Energy & Carbon Sr. Project Manager, with experience in carbon credits and frameworks in the renewable energy and carbon credit space such as CEBA, RE100, Clean Energy Accounting Project, Gold Standard, Oxford Offsetting Principles and RMI Carbon Markets Initiative. This person will support our client’s corporate sustainability programs and work alongside our team as a subject matter expert on renewable energy and carbon credits. As a Senior Project Manager, you will work with some of the world’s most innovative companies, including those influencing iconic real estate projects and portfolios. We are excited about potential candidates who are highly organized and process driven, with a knack for leveraging data and consulting with technical and non-technical audiences. This role requires experience working in a consultative role to advise commercial clients on renewable energy and carbon credit strategy and procurement. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, energy, or related fields. • 6+ years’ experience in the renewable energy industry, with experience consulting directly with commercial clients on renewable energy strategy and procurement. • A minimum of 1 year experience in the carbon credit industry, with experience consulting directly with commercial clients on carbon credit strategy, sourcing considerations and procurement. • A passion for renewable energy and strategic climate action. • Advanced expertise in renewable energy and carbon credit contract structures. • Experience navigating renewable energy and carbon credit markets on behalf of clients. • Demonstrated track record of successful project management and cross-team collaboration. • Strong understanding of leading organizations and frameworks in the renewable energy and carbon credit space, e.g. CEBA, RE100, Clean Energy Accounting Project, Gold Standard, Oxford Offsetting Principles, RMI Carbon Markets Initiative. • Familiarity with leading renewable energy and carbon credit project generators and credit providers in the Americas and EMEA regions. • Strong understanding of corporate climate and energy strategy and market trends impacting the application of renewable energy and carbon offsets to GHG accounting, including standards revisions and granular RECs. • Highly proficient use of Microsoft Excel. • An innate attention to detail. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to explain complex and technical topics. • Ability to navigate in the face of ambiguity. • A team player that gets the job done and sees no task as too small. • Thrives on building and managing relationships with clients as well as team members. • Experience working with real estate developers, asset managers or investors preferred. • Experience working across multiple sustainability topics a plus. • Experience developing financial cost models and budgets a plus. • Individuals with corporate consulting backgrounds encouraged to apply. Duties • Collaborate closely with our Carbon, ESG, Sustainability Consulting and Energy and Performance Engineering service lines to deliver comprehensive, integrated solutions to a variety of client types including public and private corporations, cities, universities, and architecture, engineering, and construction partners. • Serve as subject matter expert on multiple client engagements at the same time, advising Our project teams and clients on credible and cost-effective approaches to implementing offsite renewable energy at a portfolio scale, and to applying environmental attribute certificates and carbon credits at the asset/project-level to meet green building certification requirements, e.g. LEED Zero Carbon. • Manage multiple client engagements at the same time, independently leading the renewable energy/carbon credit workstreams within larger projects or delivering directly on exclusive scopes. • Support clients in anticipating and preparing for upcoming shifts in the market, e.g. application of granular RECs, new or expanding international renewable energy markets, increased availability of nature-based carbon credits. • Support Our project team and/or clients in developing forward-looking cost models for renewable energy and carbon credit procurement scenarios. • Support clients in identifying, vetting, and connecting with potential third-party providers of renewable energy and carbon credits, including through an RFP process or more informal discussions. • Develop and deliver reports and presentations that verbally and visually communicate data analysis and recommendations. • Lead sales discussions with prospective clients and work with our Client Solutions team to develop proposals right fit to client needs. • Play a key role in the growth of our Carbon Services team and service offerings by helping to assess what service offerings our current and future clients will need and working with our Carbon - - Services Director to prepare our team members to deliver those services. • Participate in speaking opportunities and develop thought leadership content that positions the Firm as a leading sustainability services provider. • Attend seminars, workshops, and conferences to remain informed on industry trends.
