The role involves gathering financial information, utilizing tax research tools, and ensuring high-caliber client service. Responsibilities - Prepare federal and state tax returns and related work papers for corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, individuals, and trusts - Gather relevant financial information and assemble it into a work paper format - Utilize tax research tools to determine the proper tax treatment of various client transactions Skills - Dedicated to high-caliber client service - Effective project management, analytical, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills - Demonstrated ability to assist in bringing tax engagements to a successful and efficient completion - Demonstrates working knowledge in tax preparation at both the federal and state(s) levels - Is proficient in using standard software to perform and document work on tax engagements - Effectively uses the firm's tax reference materials in resolving issues - Keeps supervisors informed of budget variations and other issues in a timely manner - Highly motivated self-starter with ability to multitask and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - Understands own strengths and weaknesses and, with the help of others, undertakes a program of self-development - Keeps current with new tax law developments - Effectively and timely clears review notes - One or more years' experience in taxation with a public accounting firm - Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar field - Minimum 3.0 GPA required - Advanced degree in accounting preferred - CPA certification (active or in process) preferred Benefits - 20 paid days off, 5 sick days, 11 paid holidays - 6-week paid parental leave - Health, Dental, Pet, Vision, Disability and Life Insurances - 401(k) Plan with company match - Profit Sharing Plan - Competitive CPA reimbursement and bonus incentive program - Business-casual office environment Company Overview - Baker Newman Noyes is an accounting company that specializes in accounting and advisory services.
