The New Business Specialist role involves managing life insurance applications, ensuring compliance with underwriting requirements, and maintaining communication between advisors and insurance carriers throughout the process. Responsibilities Provide case management to the assigned advisor ensuring that SLAs (Service Level Agreements) are met Critically review applications submitted, communicate with advisors for missing or incomplete information, and proactively address potential issues in order to promote an efficient new business process Order all medical requirements depending on the circumstances of the case Regularly and timely follow up regarding pending business cases Maintain regular communication between carriers and advisors throughout underwriting process to completion Ensure advisors receive clear and consistent communication regarding pending cases Work extensively with back office systems, WealthServ, as well as insurance carrier websites Update and maintain WealthServ system with current information at all times Responsible for maintaining an organized filing system for easy referral and retrieval Skills Completion of Post-Secondary School, or equivalent Proven experience in Microsoft Office applications Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Communicates effectively (internally and externally) Customer service mindset Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to work in an ever-changing environment Minimum of 1 year experience in the insurance and financial services industry considered an asset Knowledge of WealthServ an asset Company Overview Canada Life looks after retirement, investments, Estate Planning, Wealth Management, Investing for Children, Flexible Life Plans.
