Position: Residential Counselor Locations: Somerville, MA, Cambridge, MA, Arlington, MA, Wilmington, MA Salary: $20.60 per hour Schedule: Per Diem/Relief About Us: Walnut Street Center is a nonprofit human service agency that provides support services to adults with Intellectual Disabilities, assisting them in living engaged and meaningful lives: opportunities to live, work, volunteer, and socialize within the community. Who we are looking for: Seeking Residential Counselors to help empower adults with intellectual disabilities to make more meaningful life choices by working directly with those individuals in one of our many programs. The Job Responsibilities: Ensuring community engagement Assisting with ensuring a livable environment Participating in the development, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of each individual's goals Providing therapeutic support and assisting in Behavior Support Plans, if appropriate Transporting individuals Medication Administration Assisting individuals with Activities of Daily Living such as feeding, dressing, toileting, and other aspects of personal care, and nutritional needs Willingness to obtain MAP certification/PABC training within 90 days of hire - We will train! Job Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive Ability to pass a driving and background check COVID-19 Vaccine Card Ability to communicate effectively in English Ability to complete training both online and in-person Previous human services or long-term care experience is strongly preferred (1 year) Preferred: CNA/HHA experience preferred Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred Schedule: 10 hour shift 8 hour shift Evening shifts as needed Overnight shifts as needed Weekends as needed License/Certification: Driver's License (Required) MAP Certification (Preferred) First Aid/CPR (Preferred) PABC (Preferred) Work Location: In person Walnut Street Center, Inc. believes diversity strengthens the value of our workplace and communities.
