PHP/Perl Developer - Domain Registrar

Remote (Australasia Time Zone) Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PHP/Perl Developer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development and maintenance of our domain registrar platform. This role requires a deep understanding of PHP and Perl programming languages, as well as a strong familiarity with the intricacies of the domain name industry. Key Responsibilities: Development and Maintenance: Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable PHP and Perl applications for our domain registrar platform. API Integration: Integrate with various domain name registries and other third-party APIs to ensure seamless functionality. Performance Optimization: Identify and implement performance optimizations to enhance the speed and responsiveness of our applications. Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to our domain registrar systems. Security: Prioritize security best practices to protect our systems and user data from vulnerabilities and attacks. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, quality assurance, and operations, to deliver high-quality solutions. Stay Updated: Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the PHP, Perl, and domain name industry Required Skills and Experience: Proven experience in PHP and Perl programming languages. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns. Familiarity with web technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Experience with database systems, such as MySQL or PostgreSQL. Knowledge of domain name system (DNS) protocols and standards. Understanding of industry-standard security practices. Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with domain registrar platforms or similar systems. Knowledge of specific domain name registries and their APIs. Experience with version control systems like Git.
