Professional Development Assistant

Wiley Rein LLP, a leading law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a Professional Development Assistant to support the firm's learning and development programs. The role involves providing administrative and logistical support, coordinating training programs, and maintaining records related to professional development initiatives. Responsibilities Provide administrative, logistical, and coordination support for learning and development programs for attorneys and professional staff Assist with the administration of the firm’s learning management system, including entering program details, tracking registration and attendance, generating reports, and troubleshooting user issues Assist with coordinating internal and external speakers, trainers, and facilitators, including scheduling and logistics Support in-person, virtual, and hybrid training programs by coordinating conference rooms, technology, catering, and materials Prepare and distribute training materials, evaluations, and post-program communications Maintain firmwide training calendars and assist with internal communications related to learning and development initiatives Provide coordination and administrative support for new associate mentoring program Support professional development initiatives for attorneys and professional staff, including skills-based training, leadership development, and career development programs Support relationships with external training vendors and professional development partners Maintain organized records related to training programs, mentoring initiatives, and professional development activities Assist with reporting, data entry, and tracking program participation and outcomes Support Continuing Legal Education (CLE) compliance processes, including tracking attendance and maintaining accurate records Assist with the preparation and delivery of e-learning content for on-demand learning programs Maintain up-to-date professional development content on the firm intranet Support additional Legal Talent and Human Resources initiatives as needed Skills Bachelor's degree required Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience in learning and development, professional development, human resources, or related function required Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both in oral and written form Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels of firm personnel Ability to deliver work that is precise, thorough, and demonstrate strong attention to detail Demonstrate strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize/coordinate deadlines and activities, and track progress of tasks Ability to think critically and analytically in a deadline-driven environment Possess integrity, good judgment, and sensitivity in handling sensitive matters with discretion Must maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials Demonstrate a strong customer service orientation Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in or out of a team environment Willingness to learn and adopt new methodologies Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite Flexibility to work beyond regular work hours on an as-needed basis Prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred Experience with learning management systems or training platforms (e.g. viTraining) strongly preferred Familiarity with LinkedIn Learning a plus Benefits Medical and prescription drug plan coverage Dental Vision Flexible spending and health savings accounts Life insurance 401(k) retirement plan with firm discretionary contribution Generous paid time off (PTO) package plus ten firm paid holidays Access to state of the art on-site fitness facilities and locker rooms and wellness programming Paid parental leave Subsidized backup child/elder care And more.
