About the position The School of Engineering (SoE), Office of the Dean, is looking for a Sr. Human Resources & Operations Administrator to join our human resources team. The Sr. HR & Operations Administrator will provide advanced HR support across a wide range of functions, acting as a trusted partner to employees, managers, HR Business Partners, and leadership. The Sr. HR & Operations Administrator will play a key role in interpreting policies, enhancing HR processes, leveraging data for decision-making, and ensuring compliance with University and School of Engineering policies as well as compliance with federal and state employment laws. You will be part of a collaborative team, working alongside other HR Business Partners and HR Administrators, reporting directly to the Senior Human Resources Business Partner. The work at Stanford SoE is dynamic and fast paced with many opportunities to learn and grow. The ideal candidate will have the ability to learn quickly, take initiative, and excellent detail orientation. In addition, the candidate should be highly collaborative, data-savvy, and comfortable managing projects and workflows using tools such as Smartsheet. Responsibilities • Lead efforts to identify, design, and implement process improvements across HR functions. • Document workflows, create and maintain reference materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and knowledge-sharing across the HR team. • Explore opportunities for automation and efficiency in HR systems, reporting and communications. • Process basic and complex compensation and benefits-related transactions, ensuring adherence to university policies and guidelines. • Answer routine questions and explain applicable disability/leave and workers' compensation procedures to employees and managers. • Support data entry and record retention, regularly report on HR metrics utilizing the HCM system for purposes of compliance and audit. • Assist in the communication of the annual performance appraisal process; review and track incoming performance appraisal forms. • Support the candidate experience including job postings, screening candidates, interview scheduling, collecting rater feedback, disposition of candidates. • Support high volume HR transactions using standard operating procedures and university guidelines. • Support the drafting of clear, consistent, and engaging HR communications for distribution across the School of Engineering. • Maintain personnel and human resources-related files. • Participate and foster an inclusive workplace culture where all employees feel valued, respected, and empowered. Requirements • Associate Degree and 2 years of relevant human resources experience or combination of education and relevant experience. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. • Ability to learn and apply general human resources policies using problem solving skills. • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and effectively handle highly sensitive and personal information with sound judgment, tact, and discretion. • Ability to consistently follow through with projects and assignments and meet deadlines. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Strong and effective interpersonal and customer service skills. • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Nice-to-haves • Bachelor's Degree. • Proficiency with GoogleDrive and SmartSheet or similar workflow/project management tools. • Proficiency with HRMS platforms and data analysis/reporting software.
