Small Business Credit Analyst (Hybrid)

Responsibilities • Credit underwriting of small and middle market products for Pitney Bowes. • Review lease, loan, and revolving lines of credit applications and credit history. • Verify income and debt information. • Underwrite small business flow transactions in a fast-paced environment, handling 100+ transactions per week. • Conduct transactional underwriting and due diligence to determine creditworthiness. • Spread and analyze financial statements of public and private companies for larger transactions. • Record approval rationale for small ticket transactions in the system of record. • Document findings and recommendations for larger transactions in a well-organized credit write-up. • Pull and interpret credit bureau scores and data (Moody's, S&P, D&B, Equifax). • Perform business and personal financial & credit analysis and identify risks and mitigates. • Propose structured approvals using down payments, payments in advance, guarantees, and shortened terms. • Work closely with Sales and Client Support to handle customer queries promptly and professionally. • Understand pay history screens, cash applications, delinquencies, and write-offs for existing clients. • Perform periodic credit line renewal write-ups and recommend renewal, increase, or decrease. • Review applications for compliance with federal and state regulations, including fair lending laws. • Work flexible hours during peak business cycles. Requirements • A four-year Bachelor's degree or professional accounting qualification. • 2-3 years' experience in credit underwriting in a bank, financial institution, or leasing environment. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment requiring prompt but accurate credit decisions. • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills. • Strong knowledge of banking concepts and regulations. • Working knowledge of industry standard credit rating tools, ideally TSYS. • Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
