Software Development Engineer

Job Overview: We are seeking a passionate senior software engineer to develop solutions for our mission critical services supporting WatchGuard’s firewall and security products. You will be responsible for updating systems already in operation as well as developing brand new applications. As a senior developer, you’ll help define responsibilities for the rest of your team and review the work of junior developers. If you are looking for a challenge, like to solve problems, have your opinion matter and can get stuff done, then we want to meet you. What you’ll be doing: •Design, develop, debug, and deliver successful software solutions that support WatchGuard’s products •Develop resilient applications and services that can withstand multiple failures •Build solutions quickly while maintaining a high level of quality and reliability •Build maintainable software products individually as well as collaboratively •Collaborate with other engineers in system design, architectural and code reviews •Investigate, analyze and make recommendations regarding technology improvements, upgrades and modifications •Partner with cross functional teams in IT Ops, Engineering, Product, Sales, Technical Support, and QA What you need to bring to the table: •BS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline is required •8+ years proven software engineering experience •5+ years of experiences working with Microsoft solution stack as developer including .Net, C#, MSSQL, PowerShell, Windows operating system, Windows server •Must have proven experience with object-oriented programming •Must have proven experience with .NET/.NET Core platform: C#, ASP.NET/Core , MVC. •Experience with MS SQL database design and development •Experience using WCF, REST, XML, JSON •Experience with Azure/AWS cloud •Experience with AKS, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm •Experience with agile methodologies, lean, build processes, and CI •Team player who has strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills •Effectively communicate with other engineers and program managers •Discipline and craftsmanship in your work •Possess a positive attitude and be personable •Be innovative, Proactive self-starter and always want to learn more
