About the position As a Senior Software Development Engineer in the S3 Buckets team at Amazon, you will be responsible for building and enhancing the next generation of the S3 Buckets service. This role involves designing, implementing, and operating the S3 API experience, which processes millions of requests per second and operates at terabit bandwidth levels. You will lead a team of engineers to deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions while driving innovation to meet the rapid growth and challenges of S3's customer base. Responsibilities • Design, implement, and improve the S3 API experience for all of S3. • Lead peer engineers to deliver high-quality and scalable software. • Drive innovation to build the next generation of software for S3. • Code systems and services that allow rapid development to meet fast-paced challenges. • Ensure high standards for test automation, verification processes, design, and code reviews. Requirements • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience. • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language. • 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems. • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team. Nice-to-haves • 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
