Transmission Line Designer

ATC is looking for a Civil Designer to work on project teams overseeing the development of transmission lines. The role involves using CAD programs to assist in design engineering work and coordinating project estimates while ensuring customer-focused design activities. Responsibilities Assist in the completion of design engineering work Utilize ATC design standards and guides in support of transmission line construction projects Coordinate review of project estimates for cost and scope accuracy Provide technical input to obtain services from external consultants Perform site walk downs and confer with internal and external stakeholders to ensure design activities are customer focused, results oriented and performance driven Review complex drawing packages independently from sketches provided by others Gather existing asset records and drawings from ATC’s record storage systems to help prepare construction documents Administer project requirements from initial concept through completion Skills Associate's degree in civil or mechanical engineering Experience in computer aided design programs Ability to assist in the completion of design engineering work Knowledge of ATC design standards and guides Experience in reviewing complex drawing packages, such as plan and profiles, structure and assembly details and foundation plans Ability to gather existing asset records and drawings from ATC's record storage systems Ability to perform site walk downs Ability to confer with internal and external stakeholders Ability to coordinate review of project estimates for cost and scope accuracy Ability to provide technical input to obtain services from external consultants Benefits Annual incentive bonus Employer-sponsored pension plan 401(k) match HSA contribution Life & disability insurance Health care benefits Generous time off plans Flexible work arrangements Company Overview ATC is connecting you with a sustainable energy future.
