They are seeking an Application Development Intern to work on enterprise business application platforms and build AI proof-of-concepts while gaining experience in modern system architecture. Responsibilities Work on cutting-edge, large scale, enterprise business application platforms Build AI proof-of-concepts, explore new AI technologies, work well in a dynamic research setting, and possess strong Python skills Contribute to our next-generation platform leveraging browser-based clients written in Angular, backed by Java based REST services, and highly scalable and complex backend systems, conforming to strict security standards Gain first-hand experience on modern system architecture, such as Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Event-Driven Architecture (EDA), Web frameworks, and enabling technology such as REST, JSON, Kafka, containerization, RPA, content management systems etc Apply the fundamentals from Computer Science/Engineering curriculum onto real-world problems Communicate your work to other teams and develop your skills explaining technical subjects to a business audience Skills Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program Completed at least one course or equivalent experience with programming in Java, Python, C++, or other similar languages Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical fields Strong Python skills Experience programming in at least one of the mainstream languages such as Java, Python, C++, etc Some experience or knowledge in modern web application development languages and frameworks such as HTML/CSS, Angular/React etc Experience with OpenAI, LLM frameworks Solid skills in data structure and algorithms design/analysis Good understanding of software architecture, Object-Oriented (OO) analysis/design, and commonly used design patterns such as factory, composite, etc Self-motivated and able to contribute in a team setting Excel at problem solving, with strong analytical and critical thinking skills Ability to communicate work to other teams and develop skills explaining technical subjects to a business audience Company Overview Delta Dental of Michigan, with its affiliates in Arkansas, Indiana, Kentucky, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio and Tennessee It was founded in 1957, and is headquartered in Okemos, Michigan, USA, with a workforce of 501-1000 employees.
