The Associate Claim Rep position involves comprehensive training in claim handling, customer service, and policy interpretation, focusing on managing Northland Liability claims and progressing towards full claims handling responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in structured training classes covering claim processes, systems, and procedures
- Training will include virtual, classroom and on-the-job training
- Learn how to investigate, determine coverage, liability, and damages based on policy terms and claim facts
- Under close supervision, review, investigate, and document claims
- Gather information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and third-party providers
- Communicate and apprise all parties regarding claim status which may include our internal and external business customers, and legal counsel
- Maintain accurate records of claim activity in claim management systems
- Acquire and maintain relevant Insurance License(s) to comply with state and Travelers’ requirements within three months of starting the job
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills
- High School Diploma or GED and one year of customer service experience OR Bachelor's Degree
- Previous internship or work experience in insurance, finance, or customer service
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Exceptional customer service skills and a commitment to providing a positive experience for insureds and claimants
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally
- Acquire and maintain relevant Insurance License(s) to comply with state and Travelers' requirements within three months of starting the job
